hi all

where do you recommend staying, self -catering, in Callanish? Do I remember Julian stayed in a cottage called Creagan? and I think some of you may have too ... I know Moth and Jane stayed somewhere dead close that sounded fab... Last time I went it was only briefly and we stayed at the Doune Braes, nice but way too pricey for a week!!!

Does anyone know of a self catering cottage called Calanmaran? jsut found it on line, looks pretty good... views of the Stones, which are 3/4 mile away..

hmm

any advice gratefully received!!

My wife and I stayed in this place earlier this year...

...and I couldn't recomend it highly enough. It's really nice and cosy and has amazing views of the coastline. Best of all it has a open peat fire for which peat is supplied, and has an Aga-type stove in the Kitchen. It's not particularly close to Callanish, in fact it's closer to Clash An Trushal. There are a few other sites well within walking distance. Callanish is about a 20-30 mins drive away.

Hi,

This is where we stayed back in June..

http://www.leumadair.co.uk/ ,

This is also where Moth & Jane stayed, although they stayed in the s/c house and we were in the b&b.
A really nice and friendly place to stay and if you are in the b&b you get a really nice cooked scottish breakfast. The pleace has a excellent view of the stones from the bedroom window.

I'll email you Trish...
