This is one of those sites that got away. I've never even attempted to visit, but I gather it's not far off the road. You've probably already had a look, but it's worth trying Prehistoric Preseli by N.P. Figgis. His notes are usually good, but I can't seem to find my copy so I can't check.

Thanks for all that, it was the Moel/Foel bit that confused me over Drygarn, found the book as well. Notice the next hillfort, Carn Alw, has a chevaux de frise defence - it looks pretty remote though looking at the map.......
