Chelmsford V Fes. is this weekend and there's a beer festival at a tichy little pub called the Viper over the August bank holiday. The Viper's a great little pub set all alone in a wood like some kind of a Hansel and Gretel place - they do some mean beers in there with names like Jake the Snake and Busman's Armpit. The pub's not far from Ingatestone, which isn't far from the A12. There are two stones in Ingatestone High Street and one in the church - that's about the sum total of stone circles in Essex (but you can't have good circles and lots of good pubs :-)
There's one big, overwhelming problem though - it's all in Essex!

Well, there's also the Woolpack, that has a pagan moot each first Wednesday of every month, several cask ales and six varieties of sausage and mash - dunno if it's six varieties of sausage or six varieties of mash though. After a few jars of their Rogers Revenge, Dead Parrot or Poacher's Knob it probably doesn't matter :-)
