Chelmsford V Fes. is this weekend and there's a beer festival at a tichy little pub called the Viper over the August bank holiday. The Viper's a great little pub set all alone in a wood like some kind of a Hansel and Gretel place - they do some mean beers in there with names like Jake the Snake and Busman's Armpit. The pub's not far from Ingatestone, which isn't far from the A12. There are two stones in Ingatestone High Street and one in the church - that's about the sum total of stone circles in Essex (but you can't have good circles and lots of good pubs :-)
