If you want something doing, you often have to do it yerself!

I got a phone call from my aunt just now who has a cottage in Brittany, inviting us to stay there (free!) in mid September. Unfortunately - or perhaps even fortunately - we'll be in France ANYWAY at that time, but a long, long way south... Gah! Trips to France, like bloody buses...
