Books!

Jane, I would like one of treaclechops' books please - perhaps one that she has signed or written something in. Don't mind which so will leave it to you (I do have both Pryor's books though).

Treaclechops had a particularly strange - almost obsessive - need to keep her books in A1 mint condition and so never wrote in them. Indeed, she didn't even like it when other people wrote in them, for example when someone gave her a book as a gift! Whereas my books - and maps - are scribbled all over with notes and observations! She was equally odd about daily newspapers - if you picked up her copy of The Guardian and opened it before she had read it, she considered it tainted or sullied. Mad cow!

May I suggest you take the James Dyer, 'Discovering Archaeology of in England and Wales'? It's an ancient copy which she rescued from the skip after it was withdrawn from Oxford College of Further Education's library. (I first met treaclechops at Oxford College of Further Education back in 1991 when I started work there. She was already working there. We became friends *immediately* - it's not often you meet someone who 'gets' megalithomania to the same extent as us lot!)

Please email me your postal address, LS and I'll get it mailed out to you.
