Happened across this as it was about to come on...very interesting stuff. I enjoyed the bit about exhuming thousands of Christian burials in Sudan (though I wonder where they'll put them all).

Yup it's a difficult one WA. On the one hand I can see there's important information to be gleaned from the excavation of human remains but to then put those remains on display seems to be crossing the threshold of respectability. Bottom line to the British Museum, and other museums worldwide, is this - human remains should not be part of some sort of freak show; get them out of the galleries into storage areas where they can then be examined with the respect they deserve and then, where possible, returned to their original place of burial.
