Anyone seen any out yet? My mum has some in her garden ... but the pics above were take in May...

Try this place.. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/4545 The bluebells are just coming into their full beauty. No pics here, will try and get some this w/e. Hint...try searching The Megalithic Portal.
Jim.

RL definitely gets my vote.
RL has got the lot, a multi-layered site wrapped up in mystery, beauty and serious serious atmosphere.
The mighty stubob once managed to find beer and sandwiches at RL. Magical beverages - that's a biblical heaviness of place, if you know what I mean (-;

I quite like Rempstone in bluebell season - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/48

But I don't seem to have any photos of it at the mo!

Visited Glassonby last year and the centre was completely crammed with harebells and bluebells, t'was a sight to behold.

Who wanted pics of bluebells? Will these do?

Jim.

well we were at RL at the weekend but I reckon we were 1-2 weeks early for the bluebell display proper - there was the odd one blooming but I think they were the prelude.

Global warming not affecting North Nothumberland obviously ;)

Just got back from my local woods and spring has definitely sprung. The wild garlic has just decided to come out in bloom and is carpetting the banks with a massive show of white. The red campion is out along with wood anemones and dog violets. Yesterday evening the bats were out in force as yet unhindered by the swallows.
Meanwhile down on my beach the recent tides must have exposed a small coal seam as the strand line is a mixture of fine coal, peeler crabs and razor clams. The other day I found a couple of lumpsuckers washed up on the rocks, the terrier had a grand time licking these fellas. The kittiwakes have settled into their nests on the cliffs and the beautiful fulmars are sitting and waiting to gob their nasty fishy gook over anyone who gets to close.
Who says it's grim up north?

Heres a few I took the other week.

RL would probably beat it, and the flooaz are starting to look a bit tatty, but North plantation still has a few:

That was last week, I reckon a few weeks ago, it'd have been a lot bluer.

This doesn't do it justice, taken about a week too early (back in 2003) but it's a blue carpet when they're all out...
