I think we should start a "Hug An Academic" campaign. Encourage them to come out of the woodwork and say hi.
Excellent idea CW. Actually, one would-be academic of the 'heads-in-stones' variety did come out of the woodwork at last year's Megameet; not much has been heard of him since - perhaps the reality of it all was too much for him ;-)
