The reason i ask is i believe you may have missed a significant stone in that lane.

Ive posted a couple of pics on an old site of mine its a crudely carved very oddly shaped gatepost looks very pictish go here and have a look.
ive not posted them on TMA because theyre really bad pics as i took them whilst driving! as i didnt wanna hang outside someones house and take photos so rushed and ruined them but the pics will give u a good idea of its location.
Its on the same block in between your 'spiral' and holed stone by the wasteland.

No, I can't see a thing off those. I know where you mean though. I did think I'd found a pair of Celtic gateposts four or five years ago, under a hedge in Moss Bank Park, about this time of year. But they're Victorian - worth hundreds - and still there. Then there's a carved stone trough behind Johnson Fold School - six foot by three foot - that's worth a bob or two too. But we reckon that stone wall down that side of Harpers Lane is 1930's and constructed from the stone of a drystone wall that was there previously. In the local history newsletter - archived at Bolton Local Studies - there's the reproduction of an old photo that shows it. It's about as blurry as yours is !
