I have decided to go to Coldrum and watch it there, with a bed in the van and a rainproof coat ;)

Either at Thonrborough or the Devil's Arrows.....

I'll be at the crossroads of Forties, Fisher, Dogger and German Bight.
Any info on the times of the eclipse?

With any luck I'll be at Druids Temple with the first experimental "Sonic Henge" system and a few drummers.

It must have been fate...I sit looking at the incredible Portuguese Tour photos and then get a Portuguese 4th year osteopath student an hour later...and today I feel like I'm only 60 years old, not the 90 I have been feeling the last few days. So it looks like I might be able to handle at least a wee while at Coldrum tomorrow night. Got to check out other stuff down there [cropmarks/postholes?/stones] so will probably be there all afternoon :)

It's doing it's thing right now!! very strange.

Not really "Where will you be?", but "Where was I?" Answer is I was in my back garden, after a good day on the Cumbrian fells. As the eclipse came to its totality I was enjoying a large gin and tonic (well large on the gin side), as the red wine had been supped, and I was too cold for the Summer Lightning from the fridge, in spite of the good Mrs The Eternal having made a superb Thai red prawn curry, and the crackling log fire. Don't want to rub it in, but, in addition to the perfect day, I'm now watching Bryan Ferry on C4 doing Bob Dylan covers.
How did you all do?
Smugly yours,

There was only one place I could possibly experience this event here in Winchester!... http://www.flickr.com/photos/28869623@N00/409773387/

Jim.

Thought I'd post here too...I was coming back from the shop around 9.30, and the moon looked as though part of it had been rubbed out!
There was also a creeping shadow effect taking place.
Then, about an hour later, there was less than a quater crescent worth left, with the rest of it shadowing it beautifully.
Soon enough, we had totality, and a semblence of an orangey glow. Magic!
PS this is Falkirk district-ish (Central Scotland), home of that awesome prehistoric monument...The Falkirk Wheel (as someone reminded me over at VP)!

My PC refused to talk to my camera so I had to wait till today to get a card reader.

I'd better get busy creating an animation this evening :)
