Thanks - it may turn into a millstone around my neck, when the people that own the house, that has the garden wall with the bit of spiral in it, find that I've posted pictures of it 'on't t'internet'. I've just been looking with GoogleEarth in their back garden and it seems that either in their back garden, or in the garden two houses down, that there is a small mound. It'll not be the original mound - which I suppose was at the top of the hill but could well be a later, associated, tumulus. There's also that little carved stone at Anderton, outside of Bolton and in the county of Lancashire. It's O.R.S., so very soft, vulnerable, and sitting on a grass verge outside a conference centre. And then there's the Rivington 'celtic heads' - Yarrow - and so on.
