We can only hope that when they die, the person cleaning out their shed doesn't stuff it all in the nearest landfill but takes it to a museum. But even then, the 'provenance' is lost isn't it. But hopefully these items they've ripped out the ground will last longer than their sorry transient existence.
Anyway the fact you've even spent energy trying to convert them is medal-worthy enough.
