I've given up actually speaking to them. I'm the leading authority on whether they can be converted and in my view in most cases there's no chance in hell. And why should I bother? Quote number 1 above appears to be a public confession of a criminal act carrying a prison sentence and £5,000 fine yet it can be said with impunity and the Minister of Culture says they are the new heroes of heritage.
