So how do you line things up if they're beyond the visible range?
Sticks? Beacons? It would be a big job.

it doesn't make a lot of sense but the figures, which are very accurate and include variable like curvature of the earth etc are are almost compelling , the knowlton alignment now looks like this .
Knowlton –Castlerigg = -10.9696
Knowlton –Cairnpapple = -10.4121
Knowlton –Strathallan = -10 .2104
Knowlton-Croft Moraig = -10.8630
