I'm with you on this one. They may look similar at first glance, but they are very different. The association you make with Carrowmore is interesting, but I'm not at all sure about that either. The flow of monuments would seem all wrong. I think Beltany was a cairn and what you see now is the kerb. I think it's more akin to Annaghmore Glebe in Fermanagh - which I must revisit soon as much pictures of it are kak!

Its funny, I cant really imagine it as a cairn kerb, the stones are all so much like pillars. They seem to have been picked for their jagged appearance and interesting shapes, the greatest visual impact would seem to be against the sky rather than studded around a mound. Thats a more intuitive idea though!

I must stop at Annaghmore Glebe next time I'm up that way, is it anywhere near Reyfad?
