It was my understanding that some of the Rollright's stones are actually broken ,some are stumps with the broken bits stuck in the circle so the shape of the stones wouldn't be original.
Having said that it does have a portaled entrance so would be part of the Cumbrian axe trading route, which also went to Ireland ,or so I read somewhere ,Burl probably

Hi Postman - some of the rollrights stones have been broken, and some lost, but there's enough there intact to draw the comparisons with Beltany. In fact the more I look at Cian Mcliam's picture, the more I think how alike they are! I can see what Slumpystones means by Nine Stones Close stones, but they are much larger and are not as closely assembled.

I just think it's amazing that two sites of roughly the same dimensions, sizes of stones, number of stones, shape of stones exists but so far from each other.
