Last summer, I carefully *restored* what I believed to be a small (OK then, miniscule) "ruined but recognisable" circle in the back garden of my friend's house on Lewis.

Only when I proudly showed her the photos of my handiwork did she think to inform me that the original purpose of the stones was to mark the spot where her dog had done a spectacularly runny poo several days earlier... :-(

A new category then - burial, cremation or undigested remains ?

A friend has built his own tiny stone circle in his garden, looks pretty cute and if you lie on the lawn at night you can get really good pix of the moon rising over the top stone!

Indeed.

"When excavated, the area within the circle was found to contain a large amount of dilute unidentifiable organic matter, probably a dedicatory offering".
