Islay is a beautiful place and definitely worth the trip, there are plenty of sites many of them relatively undocumented. Best starting point is David Caldwell's 'Islay, Jura & Colonsay: a historical guide' (2001), an excellent and sober archaeological guide with map references to more places than you will be able to get round to in a week.
I am happy to provide other tips to would-be visitors such as where to eat and drink!

Not I. I think that more or less sums it up.
Hallo Mr NewX, and cheers for adding info on TMA's Islay section. I'd contemplated visiting there this year but deferred the journey, despite the apparent profusion of standing stones. Partly due to lack of info.
