Thanks for the comments. Posts here show we are all keeping busy and not yet found a cure for the rock art obsession. The N&DRAP is still going strong and we have now spent so long at Snook Bank that we must have looked at every stone at least twice. Rockrich has posted some good examples of the photogram we are now involved with. There's clearly much more still there and the cattle and good sunlight keep turning things up. Several of Stan's panels are still missing for instance.

The Northumberland Lights display at Simonside was good, at least with the weather last Saturday. It was clear and icy but had been very wild on the previous weekend and the Parks people were very worried about the health and safety problems of getting groups on and off the hill. I think the rock art association of the lighting was probably lost on most of the visitors who had been duped by the tale of the mythical deugar and its lights to lure visitors. They provided a burger van on the top track below the crags and bussed everyone back from there which was also a strange experience in the dark.
