One thing I would add is that if I did decide to change mine I would make sure that the new one had an electronic compass on it! My eTrex doesn't, so it always assumes that it is facing in the direction you are travelling in. This can be a pain sometimes if you stop, look around for a while and set off again in the direction the arrow is pointing in. On a bad reception day you can end up wandering 100m in the wrong direction before the GPS realises which direction it's really facing.
That doesn't make sense does it, but if you buy one without an electronic compass you'll soon understand :-)
