Earliest memory of a megalithic site

I have been sat here trying to remember and I honeslty can't say that I recall visiting anything recognisably prehistoric as a child. I do remember going over Snake Pass and through the Peaks as a kid and seeing enormous stones and thinking that they looked like animals though.

Oh but I do remember being mesmerised by the TV programme Children of the Stones when it was shown in the early 70s. So much so, that I recently bought it on DVD and it is hilarious!!! It has dated terribly but there are still some great shots of Avebury.
