The Moon

close

May be of interest to some...

BBC2 - 7pm-8pm tonight.

"Sean Pertwee recalls our fascination with the moon leading up to Neil Armstrong's landing in 1969, and the subsequent cessation of lunar expeditions in 1972."

If this was the programme I saw a few months back on BBC4, then it starts off with a bit about Callanish/Sleeping Beauty with our very own Ron and Margaret Curtis! It was quite late and I stopped watching soon after that section finished so don't know if the subject returned later...

Of course, it MAY be an entirely different programme! :oD

That sounds interesting goff.

Dunno if you caught it on the news a couple of days ago but it now seems certain that Armstrong actually said, "This is one small step for a man..." not, "This is one small step for man..." The missing 'a' was found by an Australian computer bod (running a computer program, I mean, not picking up the lost 'a' on a street somewhere :-)

Good one goff.

I hadn't seen the bit with M & R Curtis before but there were other bits of the pog that were familiar. The contrast between Margaret talking about the position of the Callanish stones in relation to the moon and the guy who was planning to send lipstick and business cards up to the surface was mind-boggling nullifying. I'm still trying to work it out why the f*ck anyone would want to send lipstick to the moon?

Ooh, the irony - I missed it! I didn't get home tilll gone 7!

Bah...
