Thanks moss, didn't know the Great Lady herself had been in town :-)There's a stretch of dead-straight R*man road (a bit of the old A12) that runs from Boreham to Hatfield Peverel. Can never drive down it without thinking of R*man soldiers stomping their way between Colchester and London :-( Knowing now that Boudicca also went that way is a bit spooky but very nice; wonder if she ever stopped off at the original Six Bells and the Cock pubs for a jar or two. The Cock pub does amazing fish'n chips - me brother nearly fell off his stool when he saw his plate coming through; they do a mean chip butty in there as well :-)
