The MAGIC map has a 'shaft' marked in the middle of the feature. One possibility is that this is a ventilation shaft or auxillary shaft for the nearby Carnaquiddon Mine. It doesn't appear to be a primary shaft as there is no spoil heap or obvious trackway.

morning all
i've got a detailed os map (1:10,000) in front of me from 1982. There is a homestead marked near this site, two field walls to the south. On the map the feature in the pic seems to be a low wall enclosing a shaft. On the map there are hut circles etc to the east (about half-way between the shaft and chyasuster) and some more shafts, so it looks like it is to do with local mining. hope this helps.
