must admit Wolfy, not overly convinced by this later complexity theory at all & think we’re probably doing Neolithic man a disservice. These folks were also building Silbury, Avebury, Thornborough, WKLB & a few millennia earlier drawing wonderful pictures on the walls of Cresswell Crags. To think that contemporaries were only capable of making cups, just doesn’t make sense (unless it was tradition).

I do get the feeling based on erosion (I know theres numerous factors attached to this) that at some sites, the most complex carvings are also the oldest...flaky evidence at best :-)
