I once read and article that 'proved' that the Cydonia sites on Mars directly correcsponded with the ancient sites around Avebury. They even laid a map over an air photo of the Avebury area to show how all the craters lined up with barrows and things.
At the hub of all this was that most ancient of sites 'Avebury Henge'.

Except what this omphalic crater actually corresponded with was that most ancient of sites...Beckhampton Roundabout....
