The images of my area were taken in 2000. This was the year my local pier was dismantled and reassembled.

South East Cornwall images are at least three if not four years old. There are also quite big differences where they photographed over more than one day. I don't have Google earth on my computer at home so this is a usful tool while it lasts...

Mr H

Try reverse engineering this site on Flash Earth - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7531 - does anything show up ? (There's a few wispy clouds about and the smaller stone cairns show up - there should be a line of butts nearby - I can't find them though). I can't actually get over to this site - too far and too much on - this year. Those pictures are grotty, except for the dark purply one. There's a hard road (just been rolled for the shooters), between the roadhead/last farm and that line of butts, that was built in 2003.

There's also a hut circle nearby, lost in bracken, that could be located. The ruined low doubledyke has the wall plates in situ, in places. (That's what makes it unique). I've a long barrow about a quarter the size of Newgrange (same proportions but shabby) to photograph on the top of the list. Its entrance - slumped - looks toward the sunrise at Christmas (and so does the doorway to the hut).
