Atkinson wanted to leave the Silbury tunnels open for future archaeos to explore but the Ministry of Works insisted he backfilled.
It now appears he only backfilled 10 metres at most.
We suspect the BBC have a large amount of his data and finds but a request for a search of the BBC archives came up blank.
Somewhere lies a box of bits, probably unlabeled, that has been forgotten about for over 30 years.
