Hi George

< I think there fair number of current pro archaeos are informed by anthropology and even animism has made a comeback >

Good stuff. Such notions are certain to give healthy fodder to the subject, but imagine it'll be a long while before such ingredients become an integral part of archaeology. Or am I really that outta touch with what's going on...? (probably)

< Israeli anthropologust Nurit Bird -David had a very influential paper from '99 "Animism revisited" which has had quite an influence. >

Worth reading, yeah? Any idea if it's on-line?

Thankfully we have almost got rid of the post-structuralists ,and marxists . But archaeology has always looked to other disciplines for inspiration. Who would have thought that landscape would have ever been considered mainstream from a vantage point in the early 70's .
I'll see if I have pdf , it's not online .
