One tip, get shitloads of tat from the shop. You'll feel silly buying it, but I bought a little tacky tealight holder and was laughed at - yet it's here in the flat, and you've no idea what pleasure it brings here in Wolverhampton, lighting that tealight.
And when I sit in the van, at work, dinnertime. . I pick my book up and there's my Callanish book-mark.
Am I soppy? I don't care.

And another thing, keep your eye on the hill figure's face. As the sun sets, a shadow is cast and the face looks amazing. . chin, nostrils, the lot. I don't know how long it lasts for but the lifelike shadows made us go 'wow look at that!' when we saw it.

You are so lucky so have seen sunlight - when I visited last (in August) it chucked it down constantly on both our visits. Still is a pretty impressive place though.

Am hoping for less inclement weather this weekend.

I took all my credit cards with me, when we went to the visitor centre, expecting to buy the whole shop but only bought Gerlad Ponting's book and a couple of prints, in the end.
