I've been thinking on this for a while. How does organising something that encourages a very large gathering at a site do it any good? I reckon it can only be detrimental to the site, especially when it becomes a multi-day event with camping etc.

These events are not at the site.

This years Thornborough Fest is at Grewelthorpe, its in support of Thornborough - no need to be there.

Similarly, the Nine Ladies fest will not be at Nine Ladies - These are festivals recognising the importance of our ancient sites and the need to protect them - I don't see why they should become part of the problem.
