Got to add that I reckon the scope for discussion around the stones is pretty broad. I enjoy the dry, archaeological stuff, I really do, but there's plenty more to talk about, surely.

Lots of peoples beliefs (spiritual, political, etc) are bound up with these sites - I can't see a problem with covering that.

As for endless repetition/subversion - why not just ignore it. People will modify their behaviour if they want to be included.

I agree with you wiggy i couldnt have said it better myself and also agree with what Cursuswalker said, it reminds me of the post where someone stated that an offering of a melted Twix had been left at a site and how much it detracted them from the site and it was like someone infringing their beliefs on them.

I also have a slightly alternative belief system as far as these big old stones go but like many i keep those beliefs to myself and would never leave an offering at a site.

My beliefs are my own and i accept everyone as an individual has there own beliefs.
I have found some people in the past to put forward there beliefs as the ultimate truth and scoff at others for not knowing. This is wrong and should be stopped and has for some time now, however as Wiggy said "Lots of peoples beliefs (spiritual, political, etc) are bound up with these sites - I can't see a problem with covering that" and i think he's absolutely right and i dont think peoples beliefs should be supressed if presented in a amiccable way as long as they involve the stones and why they were built it should be welcomed as much as the 'pig pen theory'

i hope nobody see's this post as a rant its not, i love coming here i just dont think these subjects should be taboo.

Peace to all
