New Metal detecting rules?

The on-going war between MD's and the archaeological community may(?) becoming to an end with a new set of rules aggreed with the various parties involved.

...if this wasn't so sad, I'd laugh. No; I think I'll cry instead. All those MD'ers who don't belong to PAS-reporting schemes, or pay the blindest to governance, legality or conscience must be creasing themselves.... They are a black hole that no "code of conduct" can legislate for, and they are ransacking OUR history. But then we know this, don't we..... Well meant words and pacts achieve nothing, IMO. Sorry for being so bloody negative.
