Very interesting and similar to those often found at Formby between Liverpool and Southport. They are mesolithic as well and I believe that others found elsewhere are too. Wonder why none are later

Peterh,
as the ice retreated, the UK, will have moved, sank at the bottom and popped up in Scotland as the weight came off Scotland.
Then the water levels will have been constantly altering.
There will be many things lurking under the water.
