Aw, it's lovely and clear here! I tried looking directly into the sun through binoculars, as is generally recommended, but, as I suspected, it was too bright and I couldn't make out any detail. When my pupils return to some form of normality - anyone got any ideas so I can sneak out and have a proper look?

Quick! It's only got another 40 minutes left of it!

Bah!

It's sunny here too. I'll race you.

FFS, Goffik, you're not supposed to look through the binoculars, you hold a piece of card behind the eyepiece and project an image from the binoculars onto it. I once suffered complete retinal shut-down from watching someone welding and for several hours I was totally blind. My eyes felt like they were filled with tiny shards of glass. It was very scary. My vision slowly returned, but was foggy for several days.
