I stood on a headland near my home in Cornwall for the great event...yes it was cloudy and we never saw the sun but as you say..it was a great expierience. Man's effect on it was a stream of flash guns going off from the Lizard to Rame Head, following the blackness up the coast. As it approached us all the birds went silent and the sheep formed a long line as they walked to the top of the field.....

Speaking of eclipses...we haven't seen the sun since early last week...and it is only this afternoon that I saw the end of the garden from the kitchen!

So much for summer time.
