hi all, long time no posts :-)

I added this site today. From church flyer at the site it satnds on a tumulus.

Sorry about the churchy content, but if the site is not relevant please delete. A sorry about the bike pic, but shows Titters hill in the top left hand corner.

Also, what do you think about this site. Could be barrow or windbreak is it worth adding ?

Hi there

The church site certainly looks like a real contender for something much older. One hint is that the road leads to it and then goes around it. Is that the road from the village?

The 'barrow'picture looks good too, but obviously hard to tell. I would add it but flag it in the notes as 'possible'.

From ArchSearch I wonder if Titters Hill is another name for The Toot, otherwise known as Oldbury Camp, IA hilfort NMR 634303 ?. SMR SG2332 associated the church with a R*man camp and earthworks, the ditch around it connected to "The Toots" by an ancient trackway.
So all chronology is up for grabs in the area, the way I see it ;-)
