Mr. H.,
>Saw Durutti Column live once...great gig...manic drummer who was old enough to be the grandad of most of the audience. Never got around to buying anything by them...what do you suggest?

I can recommend "The Guitar and Other Machines" for starters. Most of their albums have been
remastered on CD, and include extra tracks. The first album, curiously entitled "The Return of the Durutti Column" is more basic, but I like it. HMV usually have samples of them on that computerised listening post thingy that you have to queue for.
I hope this is helpful,
TE.

>splutter< You take that back! ;o)

Give the new album ("Fall Heads Roll") - he still got it..! Actually, I'm not so sure Mr Smith would appreciate it here that much. "I hate the countryside - so much!" Etcetera... Great song, but I'm happy to say I disagree with the sentiment!

Their official website, as The Eternal says, is a corker... Loads of great stuff there! But be warned! The forum is even harder to get a reply on than HH! :oP

Just tried to find "Head On" to see where the bits about MES and Julian are, but cannae find me book! Julian Cope and The Fall - what a perfect gig that would be. For me, anyway.

Just to keep it on-topic, like... ;o)
