I was looking at a book in the library today and it contained a photo of a the lid from a Bronze Age pot in it. The lid had a hole in the middle and was decorated with a simple illustrations of a man and a woman. The man was obviously pleased about something, and his 'attention' seemed to be focussed on the hole in the middle of the lid.
I don't remember much else about the lid, except that it's sometimes known as "the sacred marriage" lid. I think it was from Germany or Denmark, but I'm not sure.
It was a striking image, so I thought, "I'll Google it when I get back to the office". This I did, but I can't find anything about it. Does this ring any bells with anyone out there? Do I have to go back to the library?!
