Map Browser: Is it just me?

Anyone else have problems with the map browser on this site using massive resources on their PC? I just left it on the map browser while having something to eat and I came back to a PC that was on the edge of falling over, had to CtrlAltDel the browser window. Is my PC the problem or the map??

Oh it's quite possibly not you ... when we started, it only had 300 sites on it :-! ... it's probably having a bit of trouble displaying, what, 8000-odd sites now?
