The best idea is to read the book, doing that should give you the answer to his thoughts and all your questions.

When it comes to rock art in Dumfries & Galloway, not many men knew more than Ronald Morris, if any.

I have spent the past year, reading, researching the work he did over many years and getting to know how he worked. I have followed and am still following his work, his methods and perhaps what he believed.

In the list he gives, you can be sure that one or more answer will be correct. He does not say that certain things are correct, but only that a possible reason might or might not be more or less likely.

All I would say is that (apart from egg cups for lizard eggs [which I notice is missing from his list :-) ]) it is not possible to give anything a zero rating unless you personally believe it isn't true. Belief has no place in an objective list.

I am not saying that he is wrong, that would be just as wrong. All I'm saying is that there is a definite trend in the ratings, which points towards personal opinion. That's ok though, because we will probably never know and speculation to spark debate is necessary. The danger is that any list like this becomes accepted as definitive.

my uncle knew him!
