Isn't it Time

to have a separate forum or at the very least dedicated separate threads so the folks interested in the esoteric side of things can get on with that and the folks who decry that side of things could get on with what they want to do, instead of almost every thread on here degenerating into a pantomime of 'Oh no it isn't.' ..'Oh yes it is'

How many posts on here lately contain something we'd all like to read and how many are simply bickering and point-scoring?

Oh well, guess now I've stuck my head above the parapet I'd better prepare for some flak!

Oh, no you haven't!!!

;-)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Rune, when Mr punch pops up, he usually says " thats the way to do it "
Nigelswift has suggested this previously, and I can understand why.
But how do you divide, and say what is apropriate, for a subject as diverse as these sites, and no one can say, why they were built?
I agree that any personal comments do nothing but harm.
K.

I'd like to stick my head up also, I totally endorse what you, Nigel and Mike have proposed this weekend. I do not understand why Mike was so obviously allowed to continue under the guise of Seven only to be booted off again for saying he did not give a shit. I am honestly confused.
I am genuinely interested in Cropredy, Mike and now Preton only because I am drawn to the subject matter that seems to drive them.
A separate forum would be the most democratic thing to do surely.
What do you think Eds?

Hi Rune, I agree with you here, ... it was suggested some time ago. It's a good suggestion as then it would offer the oppertunity for those who are interested to explore and exchange esoteric results in a ongoing process.

I understand full well, what you are saying, ... what is relevant to one, does not need to be for the other.
Like everyone is aware of the small stones research - a archaeological project from George and me, and megalithic comparisons , but this is only part of a much wider research, like we would take this one fragment and return to it over and over again, with nothing but speculation. That would bore everyone to tears.

Without an ongoing process in the same context, not spread out, no satisfactory conclusions can be drawn. And is therefore a waste of breath, it's all about time Cropredy, we (George and I and with the help of others) took 4 years of research from all angles to even slightly understand some context to the stones.

Got to say, I disagree Rune.
I think all the name callinig and point scoring is a different issue. If you had two new forums, the chances are there would just be twice as many arguments going on in two different rooms.
Personally, my interest in these sites (although slightly biased towards the more "scientific" side) is pretty broad, and I don't think you can make such a neat distinction - I like to keep an open mind, and I actually enjoy some of the debates that go on here. Perhaps we just need to referee things a bit more effectively, and stamp on personal abuse when it crops up.

too many "revealed truths". way out opinions involving aliens, swastikas, orbs. etc

Exclusion "I can't tell you my secret now, but I might do one day". This is not discussion.

The Clique. Prepare to have any comment posted about Pre-History quickly decend into a discussion about fishfingers or the price of children's haircuts.

In reality the only way to keep the amount of argument down is not to bite? As your mum would say 'if you ignore them they'll get bored and go away.'
We seem to have a lot of threads about how we shouldn't bite, as well. So I'll shut up.
