Valencia's actually my first stop. I'm going for the Las Fallas fireworks festival, which someone recommended to me as the wildest-assed fireworks festival in the world. I've recently started going to the bonfire night celebrations in Lewes, Sussex, which are pretty crazy, and I've a taste for more ;-)

So, among all the street paella, burning effigies and deafness, will try and check out the museum, thank!

Well isn't that a coincidence. You wouldn't regret it. It's quite easy to find too, down a side street next to the museum of modern art.
A couple of friends of mine went to the Fallas museum where they keep effigies they don't burn. But they're so kitsch. I was expecting something old and spooky and pagan looking like our Mari Llwyd or Padstow horse or snappy Norwich crocodile. But no, they're more like that nasty 'crying boy' painting. Perhaps they NEED burning. Hope you have fun.
