numinous

/nyoominss/

• adjective having a strong religious or spiritual quality.

— ORIGIN from Latin numen

Maybe, Peter, you detach personal 'spirituality' from 'organised religion', and henceforth personally object to the word 'sacred' being used by someone who you deem (by your standards) irreligious or 'without meaning'?

Is that possible?

I certainly do detach "spiritual" from "religious" . I will not make any attempt to define "spiritual" as I should only be branded a pedant or worse.

For me - spiritual is something tangibly intangible within and without me
For me - religion is dogma, instruction, compulsory beliefs, do's and don'ts

They have nothing at all in common with each other. But that's just my take and nothing to do with dead Cherokees, Wakantaka, tableturning or the Pope. Please attach as many assorted smileys as you wish to avoid unintentional offence.
