Hi - I'm hoping someone can help me. I'd be really grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction to finding information, myths or stories of megaliths that are said to move or travel. I know of one that's supposed to drink from the Evenlode river in Oxfordshire on Midsummer's eve but have no further information.

If anyone knows of any stories that tie in with what I'm looking for I'd love to hear them

Many thanks in advance. JS.

Here are a few to be going on with - there are doubtless heaps more:

Hi Jack,

Don't forget, if you're up by the Rollright Complex, the Hook Norton Brewery isn't too far away. I can't really go megalithing without some decent real ale at the end of the day, and you can't complain about a well-kept pint of Old Hooky. . . . :0)

But the King Stone does slake his thirst on Midsummer's Eve. Not with Old Hooky, though.

All the best,
