>It's currently out on loan to one of the Stonehengineers who's researching various methodologies...<
Ahem! As the benefactor of the Honourable Sir's generosity, I feel obliged to report that the book is quite interesting. It is split into two parts:
Part 1 charts the personal journey of the author - who actually is called Rob Roy - and Part 2 describes the work of several modern megalithic notables, and their building of modern-day lithic orbitals (okay - stone circles!) using both hand tools and heavy equipment. It even mentions Thom and his Megalithic Yard (which is like Neal's Yard, but older) and notes that two possible MY measures - one BA, and one IA - currently reside in the Danish National Museum (lights the blue touchpaper and retires.....). Personally, I'm not too fond of new circles, but - as Bertie Bassett says - it takes all sorts to make a world.
So, in conclusion: its a well-produced, indexed 367-page tome on something interesting, written by a bloke who's passionate and knowledgeable, available for about the same price of a new Jeffrey Archer paperback (yawn). If I wasnae a temporary benefactor of the Honourable Sir, I would search one out (and may still do) - without troubling Am*zon, of course.....
Peace
