I think it's probable that these creatures evolved into Neanderthals and that the Neaderthals were wiped out by our own ancestors during the last 100,000 years.

The stone circles must have been built by man. (Homo sapian sapian)

I'm hoping to do some more experiments next year in a bid to understand how Neolithic man was able to transport and erect such massive stones.
