I think the gypsum itself is sufficiently porus to serve as a medium. The other question is of course weather the henge banks were exposed at all - there's a number of suggestions that henges were roofed.

I'd doubt the Tbro henges were fully roofed, but there's a lot of post holes been found in and around the banks and ditches.
