If a person buys electricity, via a mains plug, then they pay about 5 or 7p. for a kilowatt. If they buy that same kilowatt in batteries then it costs upward of fifteen hundred quid (and there's no way of diverting the toxic waste in the used batteries - cadmium, lithium, zinc + - from the waste stream.
